Personal
Born November 14, 1969 in Seattle, Washington.Married to Juli Hansen. We have a daughter, Katherine [born March, 2002], and a son, Jack [born November, 2003].
After living in the UK for seven years, I returned to the US to take a post-doc, and then faculty position at MIT. I went to the UK to study in the Atmospheric Oceanic and Planetary Physics Department of the University of Oxford. After graduation, I took a joint post-doc between Oxford's Mathematical Institute and the Rutherford Appleton Laboratory.
I grew up in Seattle, Washington and have three younger sisters; Suzi (a nurse in Boise, Idaho), Demmari (a buyer for Intel) and Brieanna (a sales rep for KING TV).
My undergraduate and masters days were spent at the University of Colorado, Boulder where I worked my way through college playing football for the university.
