·      Prepare and write regular weather forecasts for the MIT Tech newspaper.


·      Join the national collegiate weather forecasting competition. (Open to all students.)

·      Enjoy regular discussion and pizza with team members.

·      Come to the Green Bldg. 16th floor to view our trophies and get more info.


·      Real-time data available online!

·      Help needed with regular maintenance of the station.



·      Located on the Green Building roof.

·      Since 2006, it has provided continuous weather observations for the MIT community.

Blue Hill Observatory (Fall 2007) and

Mt. Washington Observatory (DEAPS 2007&8)


·      A major seminar each semester from a weather/climate expert

·      Past speakers have included Professor Ron Prinn: “Climate Change: Science, Economics, and Policy” (Fall 2007)

·      Focus on Climate Change” Symposium (Spring 2008)
